TLOU - Possible spoiler!

So after watching Episode 3 of The Last Of Us i had a thought..

With the news that the show has got renewed for Season 3 it will fill in some of the blanks that take place between season 1 and 2? It is after all a five year jump that takes place between there.

I sat down and tried to finish Part 1 this morning but i couldn't because reasons and if i'd have to guess i'd say i'm just about halfway through so i have no idea how the story ends and i have never played Part 2 either so i am pretty clueless.
